2018 Honda Fit: sportier with more technology

The 2018 Honda Fit has been on sale since last week, and already consumers interested in a fuel-efficient subcompact car that is also agile city have seen all the improvements that have been made. The Honda Fit was already recognized as a small car with an overly spacious interior but now we are also entitled to a Fit that features state-of-the-art safety and connectivity technology.

More technologies in the 2018 Honda Fit

Indeed there is a lot of goodies in the new Fit. These include an array of new features starting with the addition of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity systems. These systems ensure a perfect integration between your mobile device and the car, and allows you to access the various functions of your smartphone through a central screen.

The new Fit also offers a set of active safety systems that we simply do not find on other models in this segment. Fit owners get Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Collision Mitigation Brake Braking System™ (CMBS™) incorporating Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS) and Road Departure Mitigation (RDM) with Lane Departure Warning (LDW).

The most interesting element is that the 2018 Honda Fit offers these driver assistance systems on all versions equipped with a continuously variable automatic transmission.

The 2018 Honda Fit continues to deliver the same economy

The 2018 Honda Fit is powered by a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine developing 130 horsepower and 114 lb-ft of torque. The latter can be combined with a manual gearbox or the CVT box described above. With the latter, average fuel consumption is as low as 6.5 liters per 100 kilometers in combined city/highway driving.

The Fit is therefore very fuel-efficient, but is also very spacious with its trunk that can accomodate 470 liters with all seats in place, and nearly 1,500 liters with the rear seat down.

Finally, a new Sport version is added to the Fit range for 2018. The latter adds 16-inch black wheels, chrome trim and a new color called Orange Fury.
