What everyone is saying about the new 2016 Honda HR-V

The 2016 Honda HR-V has recently arrived in dealerships, and consumers are loving every second of it. There is no question that the HR-V has filled a void that wasn’t taken care of previously as Honda’s lineup of sport utility vehicles, although competent and competitive, did not have a smaller offering to provide consumers.

Everything You've been Missing

That’s settled now with the 2016 Honda HR-V, an affordable, compact sport utility vehicle that starts at $ 20,690 and offers off the bat a rearview camera, heated seats, air conditioning and a cruise control. There are quite a few other options you can add to the HR-V (1.8 L, 4 cyl, 141 horsepower) that you can learn about here.

In the meantime, here is a sample of what some of the world’s most renowned automotive websites are saying about the brand new Honda HR-V!

Being the tyke of the family doesn't mean there's a lack of utility, though. Just like the subcompact Fit hatchback on which it's based, the HR-V has what Honda calls a "Magic Seat," which is a configurable rear seat that gives the HR-V a distinctive ability to take on bulky or long cargo items with relative ease. The HR-V also provides high fuel economy, a sporty driving feel, available all-wheel drive and a solid collection of tech and convenience features for the money. If you want a crossover SUV but have found the mainstays a little too big or expensive, Honda's HR-V could very well meet your needs.

You'll still be able to haul a good amount of stuff with your HR-V, though. With a child safety seat on the "40" side of the 60/40-split rear seat, for instance, the HR-V can still easily accommodate a road bike on the other side (with the front wheel removed), which is a rare feat for a subcompact crossover. The rear seat bottom can also be raised to create a narrow but tall space behind the front seatbacks, or you can lower the front passenger seat to accommodate long items like surfboards – Edmunds.com

Elsewhere, it's a more playful, jazzy shape--the roofline is arched high for headroom, the front fenders are quite pronounced, and there's a swell of sheetmetal at the shoulder line that extends down the side of the HR-V, past its hidden rear door handles.

Inside, it's just a nicer place to be than the Fit, thanks to added noise insulation, better materials, and finer details. The dual-screen clutter of bigger Hondas is absent in the HR-V. It has a very tidy cabin that, in upper trim levels, can have a single, bigger touchscreen interface for infotainment and safety displays. Trust us, Honda: one is enough – The Car Connection

The HR-V mixes angles and curves in an attractive design that lends it a sporty look while hiding its budget-friendly roots. A 141-hp 1.8-liter four comes with either a six-speed manual or CVT and front- or all-wheel drive. Many safety features are available, and the flat-folding second-row provides cargo-hauling bragging rights. Load it up with extras like lane-departure warning, a seven-inch touch-screen display, and a vehicle telematics system and the HR-V becomes a high-tech haven - Car And Driver
